About Village

Kadampanad Village is the southernmost part of Pathanamthitta district. It comes under Parakkode block of Adoor taluk. This village Comprised of the entire 17 wards of Kadampanad Gramapanchayath.The village shares boundaries with Erathu panchayath in the north, Ezhamkulam panchayath in the east, Kunnathur panchayath and Kalladayar in the south and Pallikkal and Poruvazhy Panchayaths in the west. Kakkathikkunnu in the north and Pandimalakkunnu (Pandimalappuram) in the south,stands as two strong forts of this Village, which balance the climatic conditions of this area. The total area is 23.95 Square Kms. This village is a part of Adoor L.A.Constituency and Pathanamthitta House of People Constituency.

Demography

As per the latest census, Kadampanad has a population of 26839 with 12769 males and 14070 females. The literacy rate as per the census data is 92.2%

Geography

Kadampanad Village covers an area of 23.95 Square Kms. The land is situated in a slanting position from east to west and from south to north. Kallada and Pallickal rivers flowing along the south and west sides of the Village respectively. The land consists of hilly areas, plains and paddy fields. Paddy, coconut and tapioca are cultivating in this region. Mannadi and Thuvayoor are two important places of this village.

Socio-Economic

The place Mannadi in Kadampanad village has much historical importance due to the martyr of the great freedom fighter, Thalakulath Velayudhan Chempakaraman Thampi ( Veluthampi Dalawa). Most of the people are Farmers and Agriculture laboures
