About office/ History: Thripperumthura village is a village in Mavelikkara Taluk in Alappuzha. The area of the village is 1616 Hector 10 Ares 92 Sq. Mt. It comes under Chennithala- Thripperumthura Grama Panchayath.It is located 36kms towards from District head Quarter Alappuzha.It is under the Jurisdriction of Revenue Division, Chengannoor and Mannar Police Station. There is a belief that there used a "port" in the area during ancient times and the place gets its name "Thripperumthaura" from the port. The village consists mainly of paddy fields and coconut groves . Main livelihood of the people here is agriculture. Achankovil River flows through this village. The "Palliyodam" participating in Aranmula Uthrattathi Jalolsavam durig onam season is keeping in this village and it starts from Valiyaperumpuzha Kadavu to reach Aranmula through Waterways.Valiyaperumpuzha bridge connects Thripperumthura to Thattarambalam in the south part. The top temples of this village are Thripperumthura Mahadevar Temple and Eramathoor Surya Temple.St.Orthodox Valiyapally is an ancient popular church in this village. The famous Kathakali actor Chennithala Chellappan Pillai lived in this village.
