About Village

Muvattupuzha was part of the Vadakkumkoor Kingdom until it was captured by the Travancore Kingdom. Old documents show that parts of the lands of Muvattupuzha belonged to Edappally Swaroopam, but were later transferred to Manas. Muvattupuzha Village Office situated in Avoly which is approximate 7KM away from Muvattupuzha Town.

Demography

.As of 2001 census, had a population of 15760 with 7935 males and 7825 with a literacy rate of 93.9%. The town is mainly made up of Syrian Catholic Christians, Hindus and Muslims.

Geography

Muvattupuzha Village consists of highland and midland regions.Three sides of this village is surrounded by three famous river namely Thodupuzhayar (Thodupuzha river) Kaliyar (kali river) and Kothayar (Kothamangalam river).The starting point of Muvattupuzha river is called Thriveni Sangamam which happens by the merging of these three rivers.It is situated at the boundary of this village.

Socio-Economic

It has a predominantly agrarian economy.Rubber, pineapple and coconut are main cultivation of this village. Nadukkara Agro processing Company promoted by the Kerala Horticulture Development Programme (KHDP) is situated at Nadukkara in this village. A major educational institution in kerala, Nirmala Collage situated in this village.

Ecology

Muvattupuzha has a tropical climate.Rainfall is significant most months of the year.

Thiruvumplavil Mahadeva Temple is a famous Shiva temple situated in Muvattupuzha village.
