About Village

Peringalam Village is a village in the southern part of Kannur district in the state of Kerala, India. Peringalam Village was formed on 09.08.2014 for Peringalam Panchayat area only by dividing Peringathur village which includes Peringalam and Kariyad panchayats. The village is now under the jurisdiction of Panoor Municipality.

Geography

Area.97965H Desoms: Of the 5 desoms, including Peringalam, which includes the Peringathur market, Aniyaram and Pullukkara are the largest, Pookom and Kannam are the smallest and Peringalam is the smallest. Border Villages: Peringathur, Chokli, Panniyannur, Panoor, Triprangottur and Edachery villages in Kozhikode district share a border with Peringalam village.

Socio-Economic

A large section of the population is expatriate and agricultural workers

The village is rich in the presence of Kanakamalai. Approximately 27.491 hectares.
