About Village
Kottayam Village in Thalassery Taluk is one of the oldest commercial and rich places in Kerala. In the past, this place was known as Kottayam Taluk and Kottayam Nadu. Kottayam Angadi in Kottayam Village was another market city like Thalassery which was the market city of Kottayam. One of the greatest contributions of the Kottayam dynasty to Veera Kerala was that of Kerala Varma Pazhassi Raja. In addition, the Valmiki Ramayana, the Kerala Varma Thampuran, the lord of Kilippad, and the Kathakali movement contributed to the Kottayam dynasty.
