About Village

Pathiriyad Village was formed in 1953. The lands of Pathiriyad village are rich with paddy fields, coconut groves and river banks. The Anjarakandi river that flows on the western boundary of the village adds to the beauty of the village. The land area of ​​the village is 32 12.83 acres. There are 6 lands namely Pathiriyad, Mileullai, Keezhathur, Poyanad, Parambai and Kelalloor. The main occupations are paddy cultivation, toddy threshing, beedi weaving and weaving. Sankaranelloor Weavers, a well-known weaving co-operative society, is located at Lenin Center, Pathiriyad Village. Initially, the office was located in a rented building in Mailullimetta, but at the request of the people and the authorities, Sh. On 21.8.1986, the then Thalassery Sub Collector Shri. AK Dubai IAS was inaugurated. The villages of Paduvilayi, Mangattidam, Kottayam, Eruvatti, Pinarayi and Makreri share a border. Kottayam Rajas High School was established in 1956 by the Kottayam royal family .It was later upgraded to a Higher Secondary School. In addition, there are 2 higher secondary schools, 4 UP schools and 9 LP schools in the village. In this land where the freedom of worship of various religions was valued, Shri. Thiruvambadi Shree Krishna Temple, Kelaloor Shree Mahavishnu Temple and the Kuttichathan Madam are the places of worship for the Mambaram Church, Parambai Church and Keezhathur Juma Masjid. Mambaram, the only town in the village, is famous for its ancient grandeur and natural beauty. The Anjarakandi River and the Mambaram Bridge add to the beauty of the town. A pass has been sanctioned at Mambaram for the proposed waterway. There is no doubt that this is a signpost to future development
