Angamaly, a small town in Ernakulam district that has its own sub-culture when it comes to food, dialect and lifestyle. It is also known as the northern gateway to Kochi, is situated 33 km north of Ernakulam District. The National Highway 544 (previously NH 47) intersect with the Main Central road (MC Road) at Angamaly. Cochin International Airport is also situated in this village.

As of 2011 India census, Angamaly had a population of 33,465. Males constitute 49% of the population and females 51%. Angamaly has an average literacy rate of 96.47%, higher than the national average of 74.04%; 9% of the population is under 6 years of age. religion-christianity-71.89%, hinduism-27.03%, islam-0.83%.

Angamaly town has grown as a trade and service centre and still trade and commerce is the major activity of the town. Major portion of Angamaly Village is still under agricultural use . Angamaly has a state-owned industrial estate at its southern end which has numerous renowned factories. Kerala State Bamboo Corporation Ltd. has its headquarters at Angamaly. There are also several hospitals and educational institutions in the locality. Little Flower Hospital & Research Centre is a 610-bed multi-speciality hospital in the town of Angamaly. The hospital is a regional referral unit for Ophthalmology, trauma and General Surgery.

Vembiliyam Mahadev temple, Paddupusha Bhagavathi temple, Thirunayathodu temple, Krishnaswamy temple and Vengoor Durga Devi temple, are Hindu pilgrim centres near to Angamaly
