A major part of Padne Grama Panchayath comes under the jurisdiction of this village. The Village Office is situated in Padne Town. The nearest railway stations are Cheruvathur ( 6 Kilometers away) and Trikaripur ( 7 Kilometers away).
Demography
As per the 2011 census Padne Grama Panchayath has a population of 22134 out of which 10222 are males and 11912 are females.
Geography
Padne is one of the southernmost village of Kasargod District of Kerala State, located 20 kilometers south of taluk head quarters Hosdurg and 50 kilometers south of district head quarters Kasargod. The village is bounded by Cheruvathur and Thuruthi villages to the North, Pilicode and Udinur Villages to the East, Udinur village to the South and Valiyaparamba backwater and Valiyaparamba village to the West.
Socio-Economic
The village is predominantly populated by muslims and hindus. A large number of people in this village are depending Gulf countries and metropolitan cities like Mumbai and Bengaluru for livelihood. Other main livelihood means are agriculture and backwater fishing.
Ecology
Valiyaparamba backwater played a pivotal role in the ecology of Padne Village. Many people depends the backwaters for livelihood. It also affect the coconut cultivation in the village.
Tourism
Padne is famous for backwater tourism. Valiyaparamba backwaters, which is a main attraction in Malanadu Cruise Tourism project of Kerala Government, is in the west side of Padne Village. Padne is also famous for backwater mussel farming.
