Kakkanad is a major industrial and residential region in the city of Kochi in Kerala, India. It is situated in the eastern part of the city and houses the Cochin Special Economic Zone, Infopark, Smart City and KINFRA Export Promotion Industrial Park. It is also the administrative headquarters of the District of Ernakulam (of which the city of Kochi forms a part).

As per the Census India 2011, Kakkanad city has population of 11358 of which 5537 are males and 5821 are females. The population of children between age 0-6 is 946 which is 8.33% of total population.
