This village shares border with Taliparamba and Iritti taluks and belongs to Koodali Grama Panchayat. Pattanur Village was started on October 25, 1985.

Geography
The area of the village is 2355 hectares. The northern border of Pattanur village is Irikkur, Malappattam (Taliparambu taluk) is bordered by Koodali on the south, Keezhallur (Thalassery taluk) on the east and Kolari (Iritti taluk) on the west.
