About Village

Keralaestate Village is located in the valley of Western Ghats and one of the beautiful places in Karuvarakkund , malappuram District, kerala ,India . It belongs to Nilambur Tahsils and Revenue Sub- division Perintalmanna in Malappuram District . It locats near by Perumbilavu – Ooty State Hiway in between Karuvarakkundu and Kalikavu. It is 30 KM away from the Taluk head Quarters Nilambur and 40 Km away from District head Quarters Malappuram and 28 Km from Revenue Sub- divisional Office Perintalmanna , well-known for seasonal rainfall .

Demography

As on 2011 India Census, kerala Estate village had a population of 14871 with 7070 males and 7801 females

Geography

Boundary of the village - Kallampuzha is the northern side , western Ghats is in the East side , Tuvvur Village is in the west side and Olippuzha comprises as the southern boundary of the village, located close to the ever green forest of western Ghats. Kerala Estate is a small hamlet situated in the eastern part of Malappuram District . The Olippuzha River which is a tributary of the kadalundippuzha which flows through the boundaries of kerala Estate village and karuvarakkundu village , and kallampuzha River is also flourishes the village which is a tributary of Chaliyar River .

Socio-Economic

Most of the residents of Kerala Estate village perform agriculture especially Rubber plantation and some individuals work abroad to obtain their livelihood. Commercial crops like Rubber , Tea , cardamom , pepper , coco , arecanut, coconut etc- are the major crops of Kerala Estate . During British reign a tea Plantation named Arthala Tea Estate was existed in the eastern border of village , Western Ghats. A tea factory was also existed in the Estate till 1980 s . The labours who worked in the Estate were both natives and migrants of Tamilnadu. They established hospital , School , post office and cottages for the welfare of the community.

Ecology

With the existence of Western Ghats half of the year get continuous rainfall and another half get rain occasionally through out the village. There are lots of animals and medicinal plants in the Western Ghats which create beautiful habitats. The people of village get fresh air and comfortable climate by the Western Ghats .

Tourism

This village has pleasant weather all year around and that is why it is regarded as one of the tourist places in Kerala. Beyond these scenic watefalls , captivating hills, and rich wild life are the beaten spots in this village. There are two ancient iron bridges Kambippalam and Kurikkalkadu palam attract the tourists .The waterfalls named Madarikkund and Mulakkalatti, and the beautiful scenery at the top of Arthala Estate Banglow and Bamblasseri estate banglow are more attractive.
