Karamuk village started functioning independently under thrissur taluk in the year 1996 in own building comprised in sy 619/2


The population of this village as per the census 2011 is 15129 of which 7055 are males and 8074 are females.


Comes under Manalur grama panchayath this village occupies 10 wards.The office building situated in ward 17. The famous canoli canal and raman kayal is passing through this village too.


Major percentage of population is economically backward and 35 percentage is middle class and 10 percentage is upper class.


Adjacent to raman kayal and canoli canal and also being situated not far from arabian sea the water in this area has salt contents. The main crops in this area is paddy and coconut.


Kandassamkadavu water festival is very popular and tourists from all over the world comes to see this. The chidambaram temple is situated in this village and dedicated by sree Narayana Guru in 1921.the temple attracts a large number of devotees from other districts
