Adyan para Waterfalls

Adyanpara Waterfalls are located in Nilambur in Malappuram district. It is among the most relaxing spots in the area. Adyanpara is an excellent spot for a nice swim and is easily accessible by road. The water itself is clean and pure and has had medicinal properties attributed to it. Located in Kurmbalangodu village (around 14 km away from Nilambur town), it is among the most picturesque destinations in the area.

Chungathara is a village and a panchayat in Nilambur Taluk in Malappuram district, Kerala, India. It is surrounded by Western Ghats.

Demography

As per the Census India 2011, Chungathara village has population of 16964 of which 8165 are males and 8799 are females. The population of children between age 0-6 is 2198 which is 12.96% of total population. Majority of the population are migrants from Travancore region of Kerala in the 1960s and 1970s.

Geography

Two rivers, Chaliyar and Punnappuzha, pass through this village.

Socio-Economic

In Chungathara village out of total population, 11445 were engaged in work activities. 72.81 % of workers describe their work as Main Work (Employment or Earning more than 6 Months) while 27.19 % were involved in Marginal activity providing livelihood for less than 6 months. Of 11445 workers engaged in Main Work, 561 were cultivators (owner or co-owner) while 940 were Agricultural labourer.
