Nedumudy village is the cultural capital of Kuttanad Taluk.It was considered as granary of Chempakassery Kingdom .It is the first village in Kerala to attain 100% literacy.It is the birth place of famous Malayalam cine artist NEDUMUDY VENU.

CHAMPAKULAM MOOLAM BOAT RACE: It is one of the oldest boat races in Kerala which is held on the river pampa on Moolam day of the Malayalam month midhunam, the day of the installation of the deity at the Ambalappuzha Sreekrishna Temple.
