Koottilangadi village is located in Perinthalmanna Tehsil of Malappuram district in Kerala, India. Malappuram is nearest town to Koottilangadi village.It is a small town situated at the confluence of Kadalundipuzha and Cherupuzha rivers, thus giving the place its name.

Demography

The Koottilangadi village has population of 36,602 of which 17,734 are males while 18,868 are females as per report released by Census India 2011. Population of Children with age of 0-6 is 5311 which is 14.51 % of total population of Koottilangadi .

Geography

It is located 4 KM towards East from District head quarters Malappuram 9 KM from Mankada. It is a small town situated at the confluence of Kadalundipuzha and Cherupuzha rivers, thus giving the place its name. National highway 966 (formerly NH 213), which connects Calicut with Malappuram and Palakkad, passes through Koottilangadi.Koottilangadi bridge constructed over Kadalundi river is considered as the gateway to Malappuram municipality.

Socio-Economic

People belong to all the three classes viz upper ,middle and lower classes are living peacefully in this village.Out of which lower class families are more in number.People belong to all the three main religions -Hindu,Muslim and Christian are living harmoniously

Ecology

The village observes a moderate climate. Heavy rainfall in mansoon season and a moderate drought in summer season. Beautiful hilly terrains,calm stream let,domesticated animals enhance the beauty of the village.
