About Village

The Village office building was inaugurated on October 5, 1998. It located near to Calicut- Thrissur Highway at Mele Kozhichena, opposite to RRRF Head Quarters. It is in Thennala Grama Panchayath Office compound. Thennala village share its boarders with Edarikkode, Nannambra, Tirurangadi and Vengara Villages. Re survey is not conducted at Thennala village and total area of the village is 2558.67 Acre. Thennala Grama panchayath, Krishi Bhavan, Veterinary Hospital, Govt. CHC are the main government offices in the village.

Demography

Majority in the Village is Muslims, followed by Hindus and very few Christians. A good religious harmony exists here.

Geography

Major parts of the village locates at very low altitude. Perumpuzha, tributary of Kadalundi river flows as the boundary of Thennala and Vengara village. The village was nourished with the agricultural products of Arecanut, Vettila and Pepper.

Socio-Economic

The village economy was heavily depends on agriculture and Vettila, Areconutand and pepper were famous. Now it has reduced and many villagers works in gulf countries.

Ecology

Since Perumpuzha, tributary of Kadalundi river flows through the village, various river species endemic to malabar region can be seen here.

Tourism

No major tourist places are there within the village.
