Keecheri Village is a group village comprising of Amballoor, Kulayattikkara and Keecherry villages.

Demography

The population is 23,500 as per the 2001 census

Geography

On the road from Ernakulam to Thulayolaparambu via Thripunithura Mulanthuruthi, the area stretches from Panar Bridge on the border of Mulanthuruthi village to Neerpara on the old Kochi - Travancore border, 9 km long and 1 to 3 km wide.

Socio-Economic

Cultivation of paddy, coconut, rubber, pepper, cumin, tapioca, banana, ginger, pineapple and vegetables is the main source of income for the locals.

Ecology

Ambalur-Keecherry coal fields are located on the west side of Mulanthuruthi-Talayolaparambu road and Thottara Puncha is located on the east side from the center to the south.

Tourism

1. The oldest Kanjiramattom mosque and its adjoining Sheikh Fariduddin (R) mausoleum and Malepally, and the annual flag-waving and sandalwood uprising held here in mid-January are famous all over Kerala. 2 The Meenappuram of the Arayankavu Bhagwati Temple and the associated Garuda Weigh are famous.
