Pookode Village in Chavakkad Taluk , is a part of Guruvayur municipality in Thrissur District of Kerala State, India. It belongs to Central Kerala Division . It is located 23 KM towards west from District head quarters Thrissur. 296 KM from State capital Thiruvananthapuram.It is 4 km away from the famous Sree Krishna temple Guruvayur.

The Malabar independent Syrian church also known as the Thozhiyoor Church is a Christian church centered in Kerala.
