The oldest Cheppedu in Kerala History “Vazhappally Cheppedu” (Vazhappally Proclamation) was obtained from the Thalavana illam – Vazhappally, which is situated opposite and near to the Vazhappally maha temple. This Cheppedu dates backs to AD 830 King Rajasekharan, who formulated the Vazhappally Proclamation (Vazhappally Sasanam) was an ardent believer of Lord Siva (Thiru-vazhappallilappan). The 8th Century marked the advent of King’s rule in Kerala. So the period of Raja Rajasekharan’s rule might had been from AD 820 to AD 844. This historical document belongs to the 12th administrative year of Rajasekhara Devan Rajadiraja Parameswara Bhattakaran.

The total geographical area of village is 1154 hectares. Vazhappally Padinjaru has a total population of 10,655 peoples.Vazhappally Padinjaru villages comes under Changanassery assembly & Mavelikkara parliamentary constituency. Changanassery is nearest town to Vazhappally Padinjaru which is approximately 2km away.

Socio-Economic

Village is rich in its natural sources manily so many paddy fields situated and inhibitants engaged manily in farming occupation. Educational institutions such as Koipram Government VHSS, Amritha Vidhyalayam, St. Marys Higher secondary School are situated here.

Ecology

Stunning beauty of small canals and greenery, Cris-Crossing in wast areas of this village. Coconut, Paddy and fish farming are common in this areas.

Tourism

An ancient Temple called Kalkulathukavu Devi Temple situated in this Village has so many practices. One of the peculiar practice called MUDIYETTU taking place once in every 12 years.Two or three serpent-shrines(Sarpakkavu)which is described as a perfect echosystem existing hear. Also there is a famous church named St.Antonys Church,Paral attracting so many devotees.
