Valambur village is located in Perinthalmanna Taluk of Malappuram district in Kerala, India. It is situated at Thirurkakad 5km away from sub-district headquarter Perinthalmanna and 12km away from district headquarter Malappuram. , Angadipuram is the gram panchayat of Valambur village.

Demography

The Valambur village has population of 29201 of which 13901 are males while 15300 are females as per Population Census 2011. In Valambur village population of children with age 0-6 is 3943 which makes up 13.50 % of total population of village. Average Sex Ratio of Valambur village is 1101 which is higher than Kerala state average of 1084. Child Sex Ratio for the Valambur as per census is 907, lower than Kerala average of 964.

Geography

The total geographical area of village is 2113 hectares. Perinthalmanna is nearest town to Valambur which is approximately 5km away. There are five Desoms in the village. Valambur, Chathanallur, Aripra, Eranthode and Tirurkkad. The village shares its boundary with north- Mankada, Keezhattur and Vadakkangara villages, south -Angadippuram village, east- Perinthalmanna and Karyavattom villages, and west- Puzhakkattiri village

Socio-Economic

Mainly paddy cultivation, rubber plantation etc, influence of Gulf economy also plays a vital role in the socio-economic moulding of the society.More than 60 percentage of the community belongs to Muslims ,35 percentage are Hindus and 5 percentage Christians. Communal harmony of the village remarkable.

Ecology

The hills,streams, trees and agricultural fields enhance the beauty of the village. This village observes a moderate climate. Heavy rainfall in monsoon season and moderate drought in summer season.
