Melila village is situated towards the Eastern boundary of Kottarakara taluk. It shares boundary with Vilakudy and Thalavoor villages in Pathanapuram Taluk and Vettikkavala, Chakkuvarackal, Mylom and Kottarakara villages in Kottarakara Taluk. The National Highway 744 and the Kottayam Thiruvanathapuram State Highway pass through it.
