About Village

Peruvembu Village is Palakkad Taluk of Palakkad District, Kerala. It says that name Peruvembu is originated from the word Peruveppu (Neem Tree) which was boundary/Check Post between State of Madras and State of Kerala during the rein of British. Still the main junction of village is known as "Chugam" where one has to take toll to enter the state.

This village is surrounded by 9 Villages Viz Polpully, Kodumbu, Kannadi-1 and Kannadi-II of Palakkad Taluk , Thenkurussi - 1 of Alathur Taluk and Koduvayur-1, Pudunagaram, Thathamangalm and Chittur of Chittur Taluk.

This village is termed as Rural and major employment and income of the village is from from Agriculture. Besides agriculture there are communities engaged in hand weaving of cloths, Pot making, Agricultural allied tools making and making of Musical instrument Mrithangam.

Major part of land of this village is Paddy feilds, it is well irrigated with Irrigation Projects like Malampuzha, Meenkara and Chittur Puzha. Moreover the village is having about 101 ponds.

One of the attraction is "Palathulli Nagaram" which is remaining of old market which was quiet famous during the rein of British. The Oottukulamgara Bhagavthi Temple is very famous this part of the world
