Ayiroor Village Office is one of the basic unit of Thiruvananthapuram District revenue administration in Varkala Taluk. Ayiroor is a suburb of Varkala Town.
Demography
As of 2011 India census, Chemmaruthy had a population of 25,307 with 11,413 males and 13,894 females.
Geography
Ayiroor is situated 4.6km north-east of Varkala Town. Ayiroor is on the banks of the river Ayiroorpuzha, one of the smallest rivers in Kerala after manjeshwaram puzha. On the southwest side of this village passes the Thiruvananthapuram-Shoranur canal.
Socio-Economic
The people of Ayiroor are generally employed in the service sector. A large proportion of them work outside India. There are a few cashew nut factories in this village.

The terrain of the village comprise of residential areas and agricultural lands.
Tourism
Ayiravilly temple, Thrimballur temple, and Kochu Thampuratty temple. These temples are famous for their yearly festivals conducted in between the month of january to march.
