Thazhava village is situated on the north- eastern side of Karunagappally town at Kollam district in the state of Kerala. Northern side of Thazhava village is Alappuzha District

Thazhava village has population of 23341 of which 10818 are males and 12523 are females as per population census 2011.
Geography
It is situated 8km away from sub district headquarter Karunagappally and 35 km away from district headquarter Kollam. The total geographical area of village is 1194 hectares.
Socio-Economic
Screw pine weaving (Thazhappay) of mats is one of the oldest craft work popular in Thazhava. Trade/ commercial activities are doing there. Agricultural oriented living is going on. Dairying, coconut growing, plantain, tapioca, rice paddy fields etc are main cultivation.
Ecology
Water is abundant in all parts of the village . Normally the village is unaffected by natural disasters . No hills and most parts are plain area.
