It has a hilly terrain with a cool and warm climate and is situated 11 km away from sub-district headquarter Nedumkandam and 48 km away from district headquarter Painavu and mostly surrounded by Cardamom Plantation. It shares boundary with Theni District of Tamilnadu and connects Cumbum town through Karunapuram Cumbum Road
