About Village

Adinad Village is a part of the Kulasekharapuram Panchayath. The Village Office Started functioning in its own building near Sanghappura Junction in the year 1987, on the land donated by the Service Co-operative Bank 995, Kulasekharapuram. Adinad Village hosted many of the Tsunami affected families and offered support and help to the needy at the time of the calamity. It accommodated many of the affected families in various housing projects under the Tsunami Rehabilitation Programme of the State Govt. The Village is self-sufficient with all primary necessities such as Health Care, Education, Transport and Communication and Banking facilities. Besides it has good public roads that enable people to reach Karunagappally town in the shortest possible time.

Geography

The Village, approximately 5 kilometres North West of Karunagappally lies between the State High Way 66 and the T S Canal (Back Waters).

Socio-Economic

Inhabitants of the Village include fishermen, labourers, private employees and govt. employees. People in the Village live in peace and harmony irrespective of caste/creed or any other discrimination.

Ecology

The land is suitable mainly for cultivation of crops such as Coconut, Arecanut, Tapioca, Pepper and all kinds of vegetables. Since it is a flood free region, cultivation of crops is rather easy.

Tourism

Lying close to the Back Waters (T S Canal), Adinad Village holds a beautiful landscape. The upcoming Kattilkadavu Bridge will hopefully enhance the scope of Tourism. A plant of Kerafed, the largest producer of Coconut Products is situated in Adinad Village. Amritapuri, the attraction of foreigners is located just 2.5 kilometres away from Adinad. Also people can reach Azheekal and Vellanathuruthu Beaches via Adinad.
