About Village
Kolachery village is a border village in the southern part of Taliparamba taluk,13 km north of Kannur district headquarters. The village is located on the south bank of the river Valapattanam. The village consists of six blocks . Namely Pamburuthi, Kambil, Naniyoor, Pattayam, Kolachery and Perumachery. Kolachery village is part of the Kolachery Grama panchayath and Taliparamba Legislative Assembly constituency and Kannur Lok Sabha constituency. Naniyoor Durga Temple, Chathampally Kavu, Pampuruthy Kavu, Punnothu Shiva Temple, Kolachery Oottupuram Temple, ancient Pampuruthy Masjid, and the famous historical Padikkunnu martyrs stupa are located in this village. In 1919, a meeting was held under the leadership of Vishnu Bharatiya against feudalism at Naniyoor Motta in this village. This place is later known as Tilak Park.

Geography
This village is located 13 km north of district headquarters. The topography includes hills, slopes and valleys. Paddy and coconut are the main crops. The Valapattanam river flows through the northern part of the village. Pampuruthy Island, surrounded by the Valapattanam River, is a part of this village. The total land area of the village is 1200.3931 hectare

Majority of the population are agricultural labourers , traders, and expatriates.
