Moothedam village was inaugurated on 1 st November 2013 by former transportation minister Sri. Aryadan Muhammed. It was then shifted to new own building which was inaugurated on may 2020 by the honorable chief minister Sri. Pinarayi Vijayan

Moothedam is a small village in nilambur taluk, malappuram district and not having any city. it is situated on the foothills of the western ghats near mukurthi national park in the nilgiris district of tamil nadu. the panchayath is surrounded by two rivers, the Punnappuzha to the north and west and the Karimpuzha to the south.
