About Village
This village formed from the famous Vanjipuzha Edavaka (വഞ്ഞിപുഴ സ്വരൂപം)under its Chief. Once famous for its spice trade which connects Kochi to the high ranges of Idukki and Arecanut trade. Poet Ponkunnam Damodaran who penned many revolutionary evergreen songs, was a resident of this village.
