Department of Revenue (F) G.O (MS) No. 12/02/85 of the Government of Kerala. Peringom Village was reorganized into Peringom and Perinthatta villages as per Notification 142/85 / RD and Perinthatta Village started functioning from 31/08/1985.Perinthatta village is located about 22 km east of Payyanur. The south-eastern part is bordered by Kuttur and Eramam villages and the western part by Eramam and Alappadamba villages and the north by Peringom village.The famous Kalakattillam is located in this village. Perinthatta Village is divided into two parts namely Perinthatta and Thavidissery.

Demography

As of 2001 India census, Perinthatta had a population of 5174 with 2479 males and 2695 females

Geography

The national highway passes through Perumba junction. Goa and Mumbai can be accessed on the northern side and Cochin and Thiruvananthapuram can be accessed on the southern side. The road to the east of Iritty connects to Mysore and Bangalore. The nearest railway station is Payyanur

Socio-Economic

People of this village are living in very peaceful manner. This village having very proud history. Agriculture is the main profession of this village. Still this village is waiting for Industrial development.

Kankole- Alapadamba ( 7 KM ) , Karivellur -peralam ( 12 KM ) , Perumba ( 12 KM ) , Cheruthazham ( 13 KM ) , Kokkanisseri ( 14 KM ) are the nearby Villages to Perinthatta. Perinthatta is surrounded by Nileshwar Block towards west , Taliparamba Block towards East , Kanhangad Block towards North , Kannur Block towards South .
