About Village

Kasaragod Group consists of 2 villages namely Kasaragod and Adkathabail. Both the villages are situated in Kasaragod Municipality. The Village Office is located within the premises of Taluk Office, Kasaragod.

Demography

This group village together with Thalangara village constitutes Kasaragod Municipality. Area of Kasaragod Village : 2231 Acres Population of Kasaragod Village : 33200 Area of Adkathbail Village : 673.80 Acres Population of Adkathbail Village : 14800

Geography

A large area of the village boundary is enmarked by the Arabian sea and Backwaters of Chandragiri River.

Socio-Economic

Since located in the heart of Kasaragod Municipality where most of the Government offices and Educational Institutions are located, a considerable portion of the population are employees and teachers. A major portion of the Business Institutions are also located within this village area.

Ecology

A large area of the village boundary is enmarked by the Arabian sea and Backwaters of Chandragiri River. People in Adkathbail village are mostly living on Agriculture whereas the people in Kasaragod Village are mostly Employees & Teachers and Businessmen. Kasaragod, being the land of seven languages, the people in this village area also speak many languages.

Tourism

Nellikkunnu Light House and both Kasaba and Adkathbail Beaches are located in this Group Village.
