Valanjanganam falls, locally known as Ninnumullipara is a scenic waterfall located in Kuttikkanam in Idukki district, Kerala state. It lies on the Kottayam-Kumily state highway, about 4 km from Kuttikkanam. Its a best place to relax in the misty climate after long drive. Tourists usually stop here for a tea and enjoy the falls.

Geography

Peermade, also spelt Peerumedu (malayalam: പീരുമേട്)is a hill station in the state of Kerala, India. It lies 915 metres (3,002 ft) above sea level in the Western Ghats (Sahyadri) about 85 kilometres (53 mi) east of Kottayam on the way to Thekkady through the nearby city of Kanjirappally.It was once the summer retreat of the Maharajas of Travancore

Most of the peoples are working in Tea Plantations. They are economicaly silent.Peermade was the highest elevation on the mountain route that once connected the Travancore with Madurai in ancient Tamilakam.

The western face of these mountains get the full force of the monsoon, crucial for the ecology of the region. The Peermade region, consists of cool grasslands on the exposed slopes and wooded valleys and sheltered hillsides. The hill station of Peermade was once the summer retreat of the Maharajahs of Travancore.Average minimum temperature is in the range of 18 to 20°C, 5°C during winter months.
