About Village

A remote forested area lying east of Kuttamperoor,south of Bhudhannur,west of Puliyur,north of Mavelikkara had wild animals and thick vegetation with tall wild trees. Ennakkad as a human settlement, shown an urban characters in the past. Then there was a decline during 80s and 90s .Now again Ennakkad is in the path of urbanism.

Demography

As of India census,Ennakkad had a population of 18,563 with 8839 males and 9724 females.

Geography

It is surrounded by a river,and beautiful green paddy fields.This village still have narrow pedestrian lines with full of shady trees leading to small jungle like "kavu".All governing offices of Bhudhannur panchayath like Panchayath office and Krishi bhavan are situated in Ennakkad.

Socio-Economic

Expected Ennakkad population 2020/2021 is between 17891and 22502.Literate people are 16283 out of 7707 are male and 8576 are female.People living in Ennakkaddepend on multiple skills,total workers are 5569 out of which men are 4062 and women are 1507.Total 207 cultivatorsare depended on agriculture farming out of 162 are cuitivated by men and45 are women. 420 people works in agricultural land as a labour in Ennakkad,men are 346and 74 are women.

Ennakkad, Pandanad,Puliyur villages were severely affected by the massive 2018 Kerala floods, causing extensive devastation

Tourism

The Ennakkad palace of Alappuzha is a heritage building that has been witness to crucial episodes in Kerala history but is on verge of collapse. Located in the Onattukara region in the present day Chengannur in Alappuzha district, the palace presents a sorry picture now.
