The village consists of 3 Desoms viz MALAPURAM,PADUR & CHAMAL. The first two desoms comes under PUDUPPADY G.P and Chamal desom comes under KATTIPPARA G.P. Demography
The Puduppady Grama Panchayath which consists of Engapuzha Village and Puduppady village. The population people as per the census 2011 of the Grama Panchayath is as follows. Male-20148,Female-21935,Transgender-0 Total-42083
Geography
The 2/3 area of the village is hills regiion and the rest plains. A small river flows through the village which passes through Malapuram and Padur desoms. The village shares borders with Raroth,Kodencheri,Kattippara and Puduppadi villages.
Socio-Economic
Farmers are the prominent dwellers in the hilly areas, where Rubber and Coconut are the main crops. In the plains, majority of the people are labourers. People are indulged in various types of jobs like Agriculture,Animal Husbandary,Poultry farming etc as their means of livelyhood.
Ecology
The village is located in the lower parts of the Western Ghats in the Vythiri ranges which is very conducive for the growth of vegetation.The bright sunshine and seasonal rains plays a very significant role in the development preservation of greenary in the area. A variety of flora and fona can be found in entire hills areas. The seasonal rain water has been stored in the paddy fields and wet lands in the plains during monsoon allows the groundwater level at a satisfactory level. The village has boundaries with Reserve Forest in Chamal Desom which have a variety of wild animals.
Tourism
One of the main attractions of the village is the breath taking beauty of Kolamala. The fog and misty rains makes various patterns of shrouds to the mountain with the changes of the wind. Its a scintillating experience to view the peak during the rainy and winter seasons. The lush green paddy fields in Plapatta is also a place to visit.
