Thiruvanvandoor village is situated between two rivers with Pampa flowing on the south and Varattar on the north.One of the Panchapandava Temple ,believed to be built by Nakula,is situated in this village.The village houses 13 churches with the famous Umayattakkara St Thomas Orthodox Church believed to be around 160 years old.The village also has PWD rest house which was constructed as a rest house for foreign officers who were in charge of Erapuzha bridge construction.Kallisery VHSS ,the oldest school in the village was constructed 80 years ago.The village also had a famous boat jetty which operated around 25 boat services and was once an important commercial hub.
