The Panachikkad Village has population of 43595, male population is 21370 and female population is 22225 as per the Census 2011 data. Population of Children under the age of 0-6 is 3546, male child population under the age of six is 1812 and female child population under the age of six is 1734. Total literacy rate of Panachikkad city is 97.79%, male literacy rate is 98.32% and female literacy rate is 97.28%. In Panachikkad Female Sex Ratio is 1040 per 1000 male persons. Child sex ratio is 957 per 1000 male child under the age of six. Total number of house hold in Panachikkad is 11004.

Geography

Panachikkadu village is naturally divided into midland and lowland, the bulk being constituted by the midland regions. All these regions have Aluvial soil. The Village has no coastal area.

Total marginal workers of Panachikkad are 2139.cash crops like rubber are extensively cultivated in this village .Rubber trees provide a stable income to the farmers

The Saraswathi temple in the Panachikadu village of Kottayam district, Kerala is known as Dakshina -Southern- Mookambi. Eventhough many Saraswathi temples perform pooja only during the Navarathri period, this temple offers pooja throughout giving Darshan to the devotees.This temple is situated in the panachikadu village 12 kilometers away from the well known Kottayam District Head Quarters of South Kerala. This village resembles the famous Kodajadri. In the Main Central Road- between Kottayam and Changanassery, there is a small town called Chingavanam. Travelling 4 kilometers east from Chingavanam any one can reach the temple situated in an idyllic and beautiful place.
