Mulakkuzha village was formed in 1956 by combining Piralassery, Mulakkuzha, Areekkara, Kozhuvalloor, Karakkad and Peringala muris from the erstwhile Puthenkavu village.

Demography

Mulakkuzha Village at the time of formation had 3449 households and a population of 18,713 of whom 58.13 percent were literate. The population of Scheduled castes were 3448 and scheduled tribes were nil. As per the census of 2011there are 7694 households and the total population of the village was 28,390 of whom 96.69 percentage are literate and the population of Scheduled castes were 5697 and scheduled tribes were 105

Mulakkuzha is a Village in Chengannur Taluk in Alappuzha District of Kerala State, India. It belongs to South Kerala Division . It is located 49 KM towards East from District head quarters Alappuzha. 6 KM from Chengannur. 109 KM from State capital Thiruvananthapuram .Mulakkuzha Village is the south eastern Village in Chengannur Taluk having an area of little over 21.3 square kilometers distributed in 2 Resurvey Blocks. It is sorrounded by Chengannur Village in the North, Ala and Venmoney Villages in the West Kulanada village in the south and Aranmula Kidangannur and Mezhuveli villages in the East .
