About Village
Peralam village, formerly part of Taliparamba taluk, now comes under Payyannur taluk, shares borders with Vellore, Kankol, Karivellur, Alappadamba villages and Cheemeni village in North Kasaragod district. Peralam Village Office is located in Kozhummal. It was inaugurated on December 1, 1995 by KM Mani, the Hon. Revenue Minister of Kerala. Peralam is the village where the resurvey work are completed.It is estimated that Peralam Village has a total of 5425 occupants(Land Holders)in three Blocks namely Peralam, Kozhummal and Puthur. In this village, it has been used resurvey records for revenue administration since 1993, the Adalat is still in the progress for resolving re-survey irregularities.
Demography
The population was 7607 at the 2011 census, including 3548 males and 4059 females. Number of households (2001 census).Peralam Village, which falls under the Karivellur-Peralam Grama Panchayat of Payyannur Taluk, Kannur District, consists of red hills, swamps, fields and agricultural lands.The majority of the public living a high social life and are farmers. Agriculture is the main source of income and also earns from Government, non-Government jobs.

Socio-Economic
The people of Peralam Village are people who maintain high socio-cultural standards and live in harmony with different ethnic and caste cultures. Most of the families are the custodians of the agrarian culture and the descendants of the freedom fighters.Political representatives, teachers, civil servants, artists and expatriates, including those who wander in the upper echelons of society, lead an equally social life here.
Ecology
The village is characterized by paddy fields, dense sandstone hills (Puthur land) and dusty plains (Peralam land). Although the village is not blessed with river or sea proximity, it has small springs, streams, moist soil and cultivation. Coconut and cashew groves add to the natural beauty of the place.
Tourism
Ancient temples and Devi temples, paddy fields ,land struggle sites ,ancient shrines and sacred places are built make this place a tourist attraction. "Theyyam Kala" is also a tourist attraction in this village.
