About Village

Koduvazhanoor is a small village situated in Chirayinkeezhu taluk of Thiruvananthapuram District of Southern part of Kerala state of India. Karette-Nagaroor road runs along the middle of the village and many linebuses run along it.It comes under Nagaroor Police station area.Nearest Municipality is Attingal. Nearest KSRTC bus station is Kilimanoor and railway stations are Chirayinkeezhu and Kadakkavoor. Village office is situated near Koduvazhanoor Junction near Koduvazhanoor GHSS.It is situated 5kms away from MC Road and 10 kms away from Attingal.It is also 40 kms away from Thiruvananthapuram,capital city of Kerala state.Main places in this village are koduvazhanoor,Poikakkada,Pullayil.Ganapathiyamkonam,Thottavaram,Kadamukku,Seemavila,Cherukkaram etc.

As per 2011 Census,village has a population of 10248 with 4663 males and 5585 females.

Geography

North of Koduvazhanoor Village is KIlimanoor and Pazhayakunnummel villages.South part is bordered by Vamanapuram river.On the other bank of river is Mudakkal and Attingal villages.East of village is bordered by Chittar or Kilimanoor river, the main tributary of Vamanapuram river. Both met at Moonnattu Mukku in this village.South part is bordered by Nagaroor village.It is one of the two villages belonging to Pulimath Gramapanchayath. The other,Pulimath village, lay beyond Chittar.

Socio-Economic

Most of the villagers are farmers.Paddy fields are seen at most parts of the village.Karette-Nagaroor road is a busy road. It connects karette,gate to ponmudi and other north eastern hilly areas of thiruvananthapuram at MC road to road to NH 47,running from kilimanoor to Alamcode.Many people depends gulf countries and their income is also contribute development of this village. Koduvazhanoor Government Higher Secondary School is the most important educational and public institution in this viiage.Pullayil Government LPS and SNV UPS are also other educational institutions.

The terrain of the village comprise of Residential areas and greenish paddy fields

The Vamanapuram river and its main tributary,Chittar or Kilimanoor river meets at Moonnattumukku in this village.
