Idukki village located in paremavu junction 2 km away from cheruthoni town.most of the area of this village surrounded by forest.Earlier Idukki village which was a part of Thodupuzha Taluk. After the formation of Idukki taluk this village has been added to Idukki taluk.

As per 2011 census Idukki village has population of 21724 of which 10779 are males while 10945 are females as per Population Census 2011.In Idukki village population of children with age 0-6 is 2240 which makes up 10.31 % of total population of village. Average Sex Ratio of Idukki village is 1015 which is lower than Kerala state average of 1084. Child Sex Ratio for the Idukki as per census is 1007, higher than Kerala average of 964.

Idukki Village one of the largest village in Idukki Taluk and has a large forest area.The District head Quarters and all district offices are located in this village.Idukki dam and Cheruthoni dams are adjacent to this village.

Socio-Economic

Christians and Hindus constitute the majority among the population of the Village.Musilms are minor and all people live in religious harmony.This village also have large number of tribal tribal population. Most of the people work as agricultural labourers and the economy mainly depend upon agricultural income.People mostly cultivating cash crops and food crops according to the nature of their land

Thousands of people visit the dam and its surroundings during the season.
