Kuttapuzha village is in Thiruvalla Taluk of Pathanamthitta district in Kerala state. This village formed by bifurcating Thiruvalla village vide Govt order No G O ( M S ) 142/85 RD dated 12/12/1985 published in Gazette No . 16 dated 16.4.1985. It is situated 3km away from Taluk headquarters Thiruvalla and 34km away from district headquarters Pathanamthitta. Kuttapuzha village lies in 21 wards of Thiruvalla Municipality. The total area of village is 1417.233 hectares.

Population of Kuttapuzha village is approximately 29500 as per Census 2011.Kuttapuzha village is the part of Thiruvalla Muncipality. As the major portion of the residents belongs to middle class the education / literacy is very high. As per census 2011 majority of population belongs middle age.

Geography

Major part of the village terrain is plain/residential area. Kuttapuzha was earlier a panchayath area due to its urban culture it is merged to Thiruvalla municipality. Kuttapuzha village shares its boundary with payippadu village of kottayam district. Kerala Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation Kunnamthanam , of Pathanamthitta district situates 8 Km away from this village

Socio-Economic

Major part of its population belongs to NRI s Businessmen and self employed. Belivers Church Medical College Hospital , Thiruvalla Medical Mission Hospital and Traco Cables company also situated in this village premises. Thiruvalla Railway station, the lone railway station of Pathanamthitta district also in this village. Office of the Deputy director Avian disease diagnostic laboratory located at Manjadi of this village.

Its south boundary covered by Manimalayar. Kuttapuzha village is a land-locked region surrounded by irrigating streams and rivers. There is significant rainfall in most months of the year. And some parts of the village is flood affecting area.
