About Village
The village office located in the west side of NH 66 at Panambra. Tenhipalam village is situated in the north-west region of Malappuram district, about 35 km away from district headquarters Malappuram and 11 km north of Taluk headquarters Tirurangadi. It is located 24 km south of Kozhikode on the Mangalore–Edapally national highway 17. It shares boundary with Chelembra, Peruvallur, Pallikkal, Moonniyur and Vallikkunnu villages. Kadalundi river forms the south west boundary. Calicut university, PHC Tenhippalam, Tenhipppalam Panchayath, Veterinary Hospital, Ayurveda Dispensary, Krishibhavan, Local fund Audit office, Employment guidance bureau are the major government offices in the village.
Demography
As per the 2011 Census, total population of Tenhippalam village is 32045 of which 15723 are males and 16322 are females. Islam is the major religion in village followed by Hindus and Christians.
Geography
The village is a part of midland. The average elevation of village is 10 meter from sea level. Most of the area of the village is plane without low lying areas.
Socio-Economic
A number of villagers works in Government sector. The social and economic status of village is good. The village is urbanising along the National highway side.
Ecology
The village has no specific ecology to be specified. But the common and endemic ecology of malabar midland is deteriorating in village due to unsustainable developments.
