Kulathupuzha village is situated on the eastern part of Kollam district , One of the largest villages in State with an area of 33521.94 H. The village is on the bank of Kallada River/Kulathupuzha River and is 62 km away from Thiruvananthapuram, 58 km away from Kollam and 9 km from Thenmala .The village office is temporarily functioning near River De School Kulathupuzha.

Kulathupuzha forms a part of the southernmost reserve forests of the State Kulathupuzha reserve covers an area under 1000 km2. Apart from settlements, some parts are occupied by Forest departmental plantations mainly of teak, eucalyptus and acacia. Kallada river origins from Kulathupuzha. Remote residential pockets like Rosemala is also located in this village
