About Village

The Village Office, which was located on Puthur - Panoor Road till 2011, was inaugurated by the Revenue Minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan on 12-09-2011 in a self-constructed building on the west side of Panoor - Koothuparambu Road near Pazhassi Canal.

Geography

Panoor Village consists of three desoms: Panoor, Elangode and Palathayi.

Socio-Economic

Former Minister P R Kurup, writer K Panoor and prominent Gandhian K.P.A Rahim were among the prominent figures in Panoor.

Ecology

Panoor village in Koothuparamba constituency in the Idanad region of North Kannur district in the state of Kerala has a rural atmosphere. Although it is an agricultural area with plains, some areas are covered with hills, tributaries and rivers. After the hills, the remaining areas are narrow slopes and plains. The Panoor region has three water sources and canals as part of the Pazhassi project.

Tourism

Although there are currently no tourist areas Vazhamala and Kanakakunnu are located in the nearby villages
