About Village
Puthur Village includes the areas in the old Kottayam Taluk where the Kottayam Thampuran had entrusted the Puthuram householders for tax collection. The old authorities were the descendants of the Puthuram family. The present office building is located on the land acquired by the locals and handed over to the Revenue Department. The Sanskrit College was established by Swami Dayananda Saraswati at Bhagavatpadapuri on the Navodaya hill where the present Navodaya Vidyalaya is located. It does not currently exist.

Geography
The present office is located at Kaivelikkal, a village in the Kunnothuparambu Panchayat, Koothuparamba Assembly constituency, 3 km east of Panur town. It is located on the north side of Kaivelikkal Church on Panur Kaivelikkal PWD Road. Area 38 79 acres 29 cents. There are 3 lands namely Puthur, Chennai and Kootteri. Cheruvancheri and Patyam villages in the north, Panur and Mokeri villages in the west and Kolavallur village in the south and east. The main PWD roads are Mutharipedika - Varapra - Chendayad, Panur - Kaivelikkal - Muliyathodu and Kaivelikkal - Kalluvalappu. Parad, Anappalam There is a stream that flows along the Varapra side. The main towns are Varapra, Chendayad, Kootteri, Kunnothuparambu, Kaivelikkal and Parad. The GAIL gas pipeline passes through this village. Land acquisition in Chennai for Kinfra Industrial Park has been ordered
Socio-Economic
Puthur Village is a scenic village. Most of the natives are middle class villagers. Expatriates are no less. The role of Puthur residents in the luxury tax is important. There are a total of 13 primary schools and two higher secondary schools with 11 in the government sector and 11 in the private sector. The main places of worship are Kallarakkal Church, Kaivelikkal Church, Parad Church, Pullanjiyottukavu, Ampittu Madappura, Puthur Madappura and Kootari Vairi Ghataka Kshetra. Puthur Marcus Orphanage is functioning here. The treatment centers are Govt. Primary Health Center and Govt. Homoeo Dispensary.
Ecology
It has a clean rural atmosphere. Puthur Village is located in the southern part of the Navodaya Hills where Navodaya Vidyalaya is located. The natural environment has changed slightly due to quarrying activities.
