Thuravoor is a village in Cherthala Taluk of the Alappuzha District, State of Kerala, India. It comes under Aroor Assembly constituency. Thuravoor village lies exactly between Kochi and Alappuzha.NH66 passes through this village. The village is in Pattanakkkad Block Panchayath.It is situated 13km away from sub-district headquarter Cherthala and 31km away from district headquarter Alappuzha.

As of 2011 Indian Census Thuravoor had a Population of 28802 with male 13915 and female 14887. The Thuravoor Panchayath consists of 18 wards .

Geography

The Thuravoor South village lies on both sides of NH 66 In between Vembanad lake and Arabian sea with an area1917 Hector 53 ares 25 Sq.m.

Socio-Economic

The people at the the western part of the village mostly depended on fishing and its connected jobs . Many peeling sheds are there for processing the sea foods. Fish- farming is a major income source in many parts of this village.
