Edathua is a one of the biggest village in Kuttanad Taluk in Alappuzha district, Kerala, India. Edathua is situated in Upper Kuttandu are.Edathua village is situated in the both sides of the Pampa river,The region of the King edathua village id belongs in the Chempakassery Nattu Rajyam.This village is previously known as Kozhimukku Village, Champakulam, Thakazhy, Cheruthana, Veeyapuram, Niranam,Thalavdy and Ramankary Village are the boundaries of this village.St.George Ferona Church is situated in the village, it the most popular pilgrim center of this Taluk.Edathua Market is the first market in the Kuttandu Taluk, The only Arts and science collage viz St.Aloysius college,Edathua is is working in this village.

Geography. Edathua is in the Kuttanad region. It lies below sea level: agricultural land (rice farms) in this region are separated from big and small rivers by high mud levees (bunds called Puravaramp).The total geographical area of village is 2712 hectares. Edathua has a total population of 21,699 peoples. There are about 5,468 houses in Edathua village. As per 2019 stats, Edathua villages comes under Kuttanad assembly & Mavelikkara parliamentary constituency.
