About Village

Kurungedu is a small area comprising of some lands from Kodiyeri and Chokli villages which includes Kallai section and Olavilam section. Punnol is also the place where the English first used artillery. Thamburatti Kunnu (Pattathikkunnu) was a place of importance for the Devadasis. A place that witnessed the English and Tipu wars. History has it that on January 13, 1934, Gandhiji passed through Punnol and walked from Pattathikunnu to Mahe.
