Kannamangalam village is located 12 KM towards west from District head quarters Malappuram and 9 KM from Vengara. The village office located at Cherur in Vengara- Achanambalam road. It is near to Achanambalam Gramapanchayath. The total village area is 2821.72 hectares. The village share its boundaries with Vengara and Oorakam villages in east, Vengara and AR Nagar villages in south, Peruvallur and AR Nagar in west and Pallikkal and Nediyirip villages in north.

The Kannamangalam Census Town has population of 41,260 of which 19,911 are males while 21,349 are females as per report released by Census India 2011. Muslims are the majority followed by Hindus and Christians.
