Village Office was established in the year 09.11.1980 Ambalappuzha is a small town in the Alappuzha District of Kerala state..It is located 14km south of Alappuzha. which is the district head quarters.World famous Ambalappuzha Sri Krishna Temple is located in the village.The Ambalappuzha Sri Krishna Temple is believed to have been built during 15th -17th AD by the local ruler Chambakasserry Raja.The payasam served in the Ambalappuzha Temple is famous.Established by the Government of Kerala the Kunjan Nambiar Memorial at Ambalappuzha was inaugurated in September 1967.The popular malayalam poet Kunjan Nambiar created the art form of Ottam Thullal in the premises of Ambalappuzha Temple.Visitors can view Kunjan Nambiars Mizhavu (percussion instrument) used for Thullal in an enclosure within the Koothambalam
